# Member Acquisition Playbook

Member acquisition at the Co-Op is not about high-pressure sales; it is about identifying legitimate businesses and integrating them into a high-velocity network. We prioritize quality and "vibe" over sheer volume.

---

## 1. The Acquisition Funnel

We utilize a layered approach to finding and onboarding new members.

* Warm Network (Primary): The strongest leads come from the existing network and personal connections of our members and Ambassadors.

* The Pulse Network: Our broadcasting ecosystem identifies businesses that are already active in the community and presents them with the opportunity to join the cooperative.

* Meetups & Socials: Local chapter events serve as the physical "entry point" where potential members can experience the community culture before committing.

---

## 2. Vetting: The "Marketing Cancer" Screen

To protect the integrity of the Co-Op, every potential member must pass a two-stage automated vetting process conducted by Marvin AI.

1. Reputation Audit: Marvin analyzes the business’s Google reputation. We look for high-quality sentiment and ratings, adjusted for their specific niche. We only partner with businesses that are already respected by their customers.

2. AI Background Check: Marvin performs a deep-web verification to confirm the business is a legitimate entity operating legal commerce within the local market. We do not accept "ghost" businesses or unethical operations.

---

## 3. The Role of the Agency Member (Main Ambassador)

The Agency Member is the face of the Co-Op in their local market.

* The Clout Factor: The ideal Agency Member is someone with existing local influence and clout. They are not "selling" a service; they are inviting peers into a powerful infrastructure.

* System-Led Growth: While the Ambassador provides the initial connection, the system is designed to sell itself. As the "Local Hero" funnels produce visible results in the market, the gravity of the Co-Op naturally attracts the next tier of members.

---

## 4. The Incentive: The Power of the First Mover

Why join now?

* The Contender Logic: In every market, it is always more difficult to be the contender than the incumbent. Businesses that join early help shape the local chapter's "vibe" and secure their place in the circulation system before their competitors.

* Network Effect: As the Co-Op grows, the cost of attention increases. Early members benefit from the "ground floor" velocity of the network’s shared resources and data.
